How do you like them apples?

It’s been one of those weeks, a week with no margins. This is the only explanation that I have for a little treasure that I found today in my computer bag. I reached in to find that an apple had completely rotted and was now a layer of “apple sauce” on the bottom of my bag. And yes, I did throw up in my mouth a little bit.

Ugh, how long had that been there? Am I really such a mess that I let an apple rot in the bottom of my computer bag? Just when I thought that I was keeping it together alright, I find slime that used to be an apple…harsh reality check.

So while it was a totally disgusting discovery, it was also a very tangible example of what can happen when a small thing is left alone & unattended with no future vision for itself. Follow me on this, that apple on it’s own is a completely perfect package, full of potential to be eaten and enjoyed…to be used the way it was created. But it sat in my bag and was never used for what it was intended for and in the end it rotted and I was left trying to remove it from my bag.

What or who do you know that needs some vision? Who or what around you is in danger of rotting away?

In talking about the danger of not having future vision for yourself, a good friend of mine pointed out that without vision you just focus on the “negatives of now and the problems of the present”. How about you…are you rotting away thinking of the negatives of now or are you looking forward with vision for yourself?

Don’t be a rotting apple … That’s just gross
